Is This Piece of Music a Piece of Common Ground We Can All Share?

Is this piece of music a piece of common ground we can all share? If you think so, please tell me why.

  1. I love the message.
It was enjoyable despite the fact that I'm no country music fan

Indeed, if you look at the whole piece of music as an artfully crafted gold ring you would wear on your finger, having one large diamond in it, I think most people would identify the diamond as that section of the lyrics, which says, “But I felt like a new born baby Cradled up in the arms of the Lord.” Here I think our souls resonate with the truth of God’s Love for us, a truth the Light of the Lord Christ would bring to us, even in the present moment, as we position ourselves to receive that light, through a strong desire, and the ongoing effort to be obedient to the precepts of heaven.

This theme of the ever present possibility of receiving this Light of True Knowledge, concerning the Love of God for us, in the here and now, is further enhanced, I think, by these additional lyrics, ”It was down with the old man, And up with the new, Raised to walk in, The way of life and truth.” Our souls know this, that this is actually the impact this Light has on us, it makes us new, each time it descends into our world on the moment of impact.

However, too many Christians misinterpret the descent of this Light, perhaps on their first contact with the Master Jesus Christ, as an affirmation of the victory of their salvation. But this is only partially true. True enough, the descent of this “baptismal” light is the means of our salvation. And true enough, the goal is to live in that light constantly.

But we need to be washed with that light every day, have that experience every day, to bring us to the point of heavenly purity where we would be ready to live in the heaven world, where we would even come to understand what it means to live in the heaven world, and have the desire to do so.

Indeed, I can tell you, as I spilled a cup of coffee on a cloth covering I had laid over a bedside night stand just a few days ago, that when I took it to the bathroom, and put it in the sink, I was very surprised how many times I had to fill the sink with fresh water, before the deepness of the brown cloud was diluted to the extent to where I could even see the drain stopper.

I believe I must have filled the sink about 25 times, each time swishing the fabric therein, squeezing, twisting, and wringing, until the coffee had migrated out of the fabric and made the clean water a deep brown color again, before the color of the water was transparent enough to see the drain stopper. I admit, that I never got the water completely clear.

The ever-present possibility, and need, for the experience of this light to be a daily experience, and even an hourly experience, has been programmed out of the minds of too many Christians, who have been led astray by false doctrines into believing that this baptismal event is supposed to be a one-time event. And they are taught to look into the dim future, for a single event that will finally wash them clean enough for a life in paradise. It’s too bad.

The descent of this Light, God wants us to experience every day. Why? Because he wants us to know this truth every day, expressed in these lyrics, “But I felt like a new born baby Cradled up in the arms of the Lord.” God wants us to understand his love as the most real and important thing in the universe, and only the descent of this light can bring us this understanding. And we need to experience this every day, to wash away the stain of disbelief, alienation, and even the stain of unworthiness.

It would be good therapy for all of us to take the time to listen to a song like this, that can evoke this response in us, "I love the message." In that way, we approach the source of that Light. This is one of the reasons God created music, I am sure, to help us along on our homeward journey in this regard.

Of course, not all music takes us in an upward direction, as the forces of darkness use music as well, to bring souls down the mountain into the valley of alienation, so we need to be careful in that regard.

  4. On June 2, 2011, I placed a better version of the above video, the same video, without the introductory noise, and without the trailing advertisements, in the above player. I believe this improves the experience considerably. Please tell me what you think.

Anonymous says, "you might want to read this article ... "

No reason to get paranoid (MrMeaner?) ...

First, the people who wrote the article did not detect the meaning of the crucial word "and" which connects Section 1(a)(2)(A) and Section 1(a)(2)(B) of (Senate 978). Both (A) and (B) must be true for the criminal (5 year) penalty to click in.

Section 1(a)(2)(B) sets a financial value that must exceed $2500 on any alleged infringement. That means that the prosecutor must prove that the alleged infringement cost the copyright holder more than $2500. In the area of youtube embeds, that is basically impossible.

I believe the way the criminal section of the copyright code currently works (which this applies to) if you write a book, and somebody takes your book, prints it themselves, and sells 10,000 copies, then the court proceeding would determine what profit was made from that sale, and award that to the copyright holder. As it could be argued easily, that the copies of your book sold by someone else, could have been sold by you. A fairly logical and common sense conclusion. Applies to CD’s and DVD’s and so forth. We are talking about cold-blooded copyright piracy for profit.

As far as I can see, that does not apply to the area of youtube embeds, UNLESS, the embedding website is charging a fee for viewing an infringing work. I have never seen that happen. Actually it would impossible to charge a fee for a youtube embed, as no one would pay to see a youtube embed, as the viewer would go straight to youtube to see it for free.

Second, I don’t believe that this legislation would make it out of a committee, as the structure of the law does not correspond to the real world, and this would be pointed out in a committee hearing, in either the senate or the house.

For these reasons, I believe the author of the article you specified is raising groundless fears in regards to the specified legislation. Even bordering on paranoia.

As far as the real world goes, in terms of youtube videos, most sane copyright holders (professional artists) look at youtube videos which might technically infringe a copyright, as marketing avenues for them, i.e. having marketing value, in terms of expanding the audience base, allowing more people, than would otherwise have an opportunity to hear a particular artist, to become familiar with the work of that artist, which will motivate the listener to actually go out and buy a CD or DVD.

This is proven true, as you can see that there are videos of hundreds of real recording artists on youtube, and none of the posters got “prior” permission to post them, and these artists, having the resources to clamp down if they wanted to, don’t, but let their works stay up, for this exact reason, creating a larger (paying) audience for the next album release.
